Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Work Activity Logger Chrome Extension ("Extension", "Service"). By installing, accessing, or using the Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you are using the Extension on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Description of Service
Work Activity Logger is a free, open-source Chrome Extension that allows you to:
- Log your work activity on websites you visit
- Automatically detect the current tab's URL, domain, and page title
- Store work logs locally in your browser
- Sync work logs to a Google Spreadsheet of your choice via the Google Sheets API
- Search, filter, and review your recent work history
The Extension is provided free of charge. There is no paid tier, subscription, or premium version.
License to Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Extension for your personal or business work-logging purposes.
The Extension's source code is published under the MIT License. You are free to:
- Use the Extension for any lawful purpose
- Inspect, modify, and distribute the source code under the terms of the MIT License
- Fork the project and build your own version
You may not use the Extension or its name, logo, or branding to misrepresent the origin of modified versions.
Your Google Account
The Extension requires you to sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your Google account and credentials
- All activity that occurs through your use of the Extension
- Ensuring you have the right to grant the Extension access to any Google Spreadsheet you configure
- Complying with Google's Terms of Service when using Google Sheets via this Extension
We are not responsible for any unauthorized access to your Google account or Google Sheets data.

The Extension interacts with Google's APIs (Google Identity, Google Sheets API). Your use of these services through the Extension is also subject to:
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC. "Google", "Google Sheets", and "Gmail" are trademarks of Google LLC.
Your Data & Content
You retain full ownership of all work log data you create using the Extension. We make no claim to your data.
By using the Extension to sync data to Google Sheets, you authorize the Extension to write data to the spreadsheet(s) you configure. You are solely responsible for the content of your logs and the security of your spreadsheets.
We strongly recommend:
- Not logging passwords, private keys, or other credentials in work notes
- Reviewing who has access to your Google Spreadsheet
- Regularly backing up important work log data
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties that the Extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any results obtained through the Extension
We do not warrant that data synced to Google Sheets will be preserved, complete, or free of errors. Always maintain your own backups of important data.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of data or work logs
- Loss of revenue or profits
- Unauthorized access to your Google account or spreadsheets
- Any damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the Extension
Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of your use of the Extension shall not exceed zero dollars ($0), as the Extension is provided free of charge.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Extension's contributors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:
- Your use of the Extension
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including Google's Terms of Service
- Content you log or sync through the Extension
Open Source
The Extension's source code is available on GitHub under the MIT License. The MIT License permits anyone to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software, subject to the license conditions.
Contributions to the project are welcome. By submitting a pull request, you agree that your contributions will be licensed under the same MIT License.
The MIT License is reproduced in full in the project's LICENSE file on GitHub.
Termination
You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser. Uninstalling removes all locally stored data.
We reserve the right to discontinue or modify the Extension at any time without notice. As an open-source project, the code will remain available on GitHub even if active development ceases.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We will not notify you of minor changes, but significant changes will be noted in the GitHub repository's changelog.
Your continued use of the Extension after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.
